I’m an Anthropologist and Designer at MAYA Design in Pittsburgh, PA; and a loving husband, father, and friend to Kelly (wife), Cooper (son), and Scout (dog) respectively.
This is where I keep my thoughts and ideas. Its a mix of both personal and professional writings, links and artifacts.
There are two primary categories of writings on this blog: articles and asides.
Articles are original pieces written by me. Sometimes these articles are about personal experiences or observations, and sometimes they are more like traditional essays on a given topic of interest.
Asides (or notes) are found in the right-side column. The asides are typically updated more frequently and are shorter in nature. Asides may be quick observations or links to other things that I’ve seen or heard about.

While I was at the University of Michigan, School of Information, I spent a few years working with the Collaboratory for Research on Electronic Work (CREW).
I did much of the background research for the Science of Collaboratories Project.
Some of the research findings has recently been published in an edited volume by the MIT Press: Scientific Collaboration on the Internet.
